About the Author

Frank G. Mundy

·         Was born in a farmhouse in the County of Botetourt, Virginia, but grew up in Glasgow, Virginia.

·         Served in the United States Navy as a radioman aboard the U.S.S. Francis Marion, a troop transport.

·         Graduated from Blue Ridge Community College with a degree in police science.

·         Was a Virginia Game Warden from 1977 until retirement in 2009.  During this time, he saw several major changes; he was promoted from Training Sergeant to the rank of Outdoor Education Lieutenant.  During his time in Outdoor Education, he enjoyed overseeing the instruction of countless individuals in the use of the outdoors.  Near the end of his 32 year career, the Commonwealth of Virginia changed the title of Virginia Game Warden to Virginia Conservation Police Officer.  Even though the official title of law enforcement officers of the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries is Conservation Police Officer, most people will always remember Frank, as a Virginia Game Warden.

 

Frank has served as;

·         President of the Virginia Game Warden Association,

·         President of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 13

·         Member of the Executive Board of:

o       North American Wildlife Enforcement Officers Association,

o       Virginia State - Fraternal Order of Police Lodge

o       Virginia Outdoor Writers Association.

 

Frank  has written the following three books:

1.      “Game Warden Entertainment”

2.      “Game Warden Entertainment, The Next Book”

3.      “Game Warden Entertainment: The Movie”

 

Frank’s uncle and namesake, Dr. Frank Gill Slaughter, a well known author, wrote over 200 books under his and the pen name of C. W. Terry. One of his books entitled, “Doctor’s Wives” was made into a movie starring Richard Crenna, Carrol O’Connor and Dyan Cannon.

 

Could there be some comparisons beginning to develop between Frank and his famous uncle, Dr. Frank G. Slaughter?    Interesting????     Hmmmmmmmmm!!!!
